How to Add and Edit Filters

Filters in Buzzspark are the feeds that connect your approved content with your Displays (touchpoints) and provide flexibility and control over what content to show and where. Learn more about Filters.


Creating and Editing Filters in Buzzspark



Step 1: Navigate to the Filter page

From the left menu, browse to Engage > Filters.


Step 2: Choose to Add a new Filter or Edit an existing Filter



On the Filters page:
Click the +Filter button at the top right to create a new Filter, or
Click the Edit button under the Actions column corresponding to the Filter you wish to edit.


Step 3: Enter or edit the Filter details



In the Add Filter or Edit Filter modal, enter the following:
Name - Enter a short name to help you identify this Filter.
Sort by - Specify the sort order for Tiles passed through this Filter
Filter by date – Specify if you wish to filter content by date/time. If enabled, you must also specify either a Start Date, an End Date or both, as well as a Time Zone.
Start Date - Enter the start or earliest date of content you wish to allow. If left blank, any new published content that meets the rest of this Filter’s criteria will be allowed.
End Date - Enter the end or oldest date of content you wish to allow. If left blank, all published content older than the ‘Start Date’ that meets the rest of this Filter’s criteria will be allowed.
Time Zone - Enter the time zone applicable to the start and end date timestamps.

Network – Specify if you wish to filter content based on originating Network. If you select Choose Networks, you must further select any Networks which you wish to allow. When no Networks are selected, content from all originating Networks is allowed.
Tags – Specify if you wish to restrict content by Content Tags. If blank, content will not be filtered based on Product Tags. Otherwise, only content that is tagged with one of the specified Product Tags will be allowed.
Products – Specify if you wish to restrict content by Product Tags. If blank, content will not be filtered based on Product Tags. Otherwise, only content that is tagged with one of the specified Product Tags will be allowed.
Media Type – Specify if you wish to filter content based on its media type – Text, Images or Videos. If you select Choose Media Types, you must further select any Media Types which you wish to allow. When no Media Types are selected, all content (text, images and videos) is allowed.
Custom Slug - Denotes a custom CSS class name for this filter that is applied to the BODY tag of embedded widgets. A developer option - leave blank to use the system default unless your custom code in Display templates requires otherwise.
Click Save to save your changes
