Publishing Event Displays on wired TV Screens and Projectors

Event Displays can be shown on digital screens in several ways and this article covers the wired display connection method to show your Display on monitors, TV screens or projectors directly connected to your computer.

We recommended this method based on quality, performance, and reliability. In addition to supporting Automatic cycle mode, this method also supports Keyboard Control so you can advance content on your Display manually by pressing SPACE BAR or ENTER on the computer’s keyboard connected to your screen or projector.

The set-up involves connecting your monitor, TV screen or projector to your computer via a wired connection such as HDMI, Display Port, or USB.

Ensure that your computer has a good, stable Internet connection. We recommend wired Ethernet connections over Wi-Fi as the latter can be prone to signal drops and over-utilisation, particularly if you are using public Wi-Fi networks at large events or venues. Where possible, we also recommend having a secondary, fallback connection such as an LTE-Hotspot in case your primary connection fails.

How to publish Event Displays on screens and projectors connected to your computer?

Step 1: Connect your device to your computer

Connect your TV screen or projector to your computer using a HDMI or USB cable.
Mirror or extend your computer’s screen so the browser showing your Display is viewable on the external TV screen or projector.

Step 2: Load your Display on your computer

Get the URL for your Display – see Publishing and Securing Event Displays.
On your computer, load the URL of your Display in a supported browser.
Put your browser into full-screen mode to hide the browser’s toolbars and cover the entire screen. In most browsers you can toggle the full-screen mode by:
Windows: Press the F11 key or select the three dots in the upper-right corner of the browser toolbar and click the square icon in the Zoom section.
Mac: Press Ctrl + Command + F or select the three dots in the upper-right corner of the browser toolbar and click the square icon in the Zoom section.

Step 3: Optional adjustments

Most modern computer screens have high resolutions, and this can result in text in your Events Displays being too small when shown on external digital screens. You can adjust the size of text in one of two ways:
Adjust text size directly in the browser by adjusting the zoom level:
Press Ctrl and + keys to increase the zoom level (Cmd and + on Mac).
Press Ctrl and - keys to reduce the zoom level (Cmd and - on Mac).
Press Ctrl and 0 keys to return to the default zoom level (Cmd and 0 on Mac).

Change the scaling for the display through your computer’s operating system:
On Windows, navigate to Settings > System > Display and adjust the Scale and layout. See https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/view-display-settings-in-windows-37f0e05e-98a9-474c-317a-e85422daa8bb

On macOS, navigate to System Preferences > Display , then set Resolution to Scaled and select any of the four or five scaled resolutions, depending on your Mac model. See https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202471.
