Publishing Event Displays on Screendrive

Event Displays can be shown on digital screens in several ways and this article covers Screendrive, a Digital Signage Content Management System and Streaming software for planning, creating, organising, and distributing your content across promotional screens, information kiosks, advertising panes, and digital walls.


How to publish Event Displays on Screendrive



Refer to the Screendrive tutorials and knowledgebase for full details relating to the setup of Screendrive.

Step 1: Sign in to Screendrive

Sign in to Screendrive.


Step 2: Create a new Associate


Click on the Menu button in the left column.
Select Add and then Associate.

Enter the Associate details

Click on the newly created Associate in the left column.
Click on the Menu button in the left column and select Edit.
Enter the name and description for the new Associate.
Click on the Save button.
Click on the close icon to close the panel.


Step 3: Create a new Group under the new Associate


Ensure the new Associate is selected in the left column.
Click on the Menu button in the left column.

Enter the Group details

Click on the newly created Group in the left column to select it.
Click on the Menu button in the left column and select Edit.
Enter the name and description for the new Group.
Click on the Save button.
Click on the close icon to close the panel.


Step 4: Create a new Folder under the new Group


Click on the newly created Group in the left column.
Click on the Create Folder button in the second column. You can optionally rename this folder to something more relevant if needed.


Step 5: Add the URL Connector app to the newly created Folder


Double click on the newly created Folder to select it.


With the new Folder selected, click on the Apps button in the second column.


In the next window:
Scroll down and click the URL Connector App.
Then click on the Install App button.
Finally click on the X icon to close the Apps window.


Step 6: Configure the URL Connector app to load your Event Display


Double click on the URL Connector app to configure it.


In the URL field, enter the URL for your Event Display – see Publishing and Securing Event Displays on how to get the URL for your Event Display.
Click in the Save button.
Click on the X icon to close the App window.


Step 7: Add a Screen for the Group


Click on the Group you created earlier in the left column to select it.
Click on the Menu button in the first column.
Select Add and then Screen.


On the next page:
Click on the first box to download the Screendrive Player for your platform.
Run the file you downloaded and install the Screendrive player. Launch the player and note down the key display in the player.
Click on the green Enter Code button in the third box and enter a name for the Screen and the key from step 2. Click Submit Code when done.


Step 8: Create a Playlist


Click on the Group you created earlier in the left column to select it.
Click on the Add Playlist button in the third column.


Enter the required details for the Screen:
Ensure that you publish the screen by toggling the switch.
The Screen position and resolution should match the size and orientation of the physical screen on which you intend to show the Event Display.
Click the save icon when done.


Step 9: Add content to the Playlist


Double click on the newly created Playlist.


Select the checkbox for the URL Connector App in the second column
Click on the Add to playlist icon in the second column.


Toggle the switch to publish the Playlist
Click on the Save icon to save the Playlist.
Click on the X icon to close the Playlist.


Step 10: Create a Schedule for the Playlist


Click on the Calendar icon in the Playlist.


Choose and required date and time.
Click on the Save icon.



That’s it! Your Event Display will now play on the player at the set schedule.
