Importing & Exporting Products
Products (or Product Tags) in Buzzspark represent items from your product catalogue. With Product Tags, you can quickly tag content in which your product is mentioned or appears within the image or video, so customers can easily purchase or access further information on the product or service. For Content Tags, see Importing and Exporting Tags in Buzzspark.

Format and structure of CSV files
Existing products in your Buzzspark account can be easily exported as a CSV file.
From the left menu, browse to Curate > Products.
On the Products page, click the Export button on the top toolbar.
From the left menu, browse to Curate > Products.
On the Products page, click the Import button on the top toolbar.
Click the Browse button to select the CSV file of Products you wish to import. New Products defined in the uploaded CSV file will be added, and existing Products referenced in the file will be updated. You can download an example CSV file, however if you have existing Products, we recommend exporting first, editing the exported file as needed and importing the edited file. See below for details on the structure and format of the CSV file.
Click on the Import button to begin the import process.
When the import process is complete, the modal will update to show:
The total number of Products created, updated and any rows in the CSV file skipped due errors.
Click on the Import Another? button to import another CSV file or the Close button to dismiss the modal.
CSV (comma-separated values) files uploaded to Buzzspark for importing Tags must meet the following requirements.
The file should be UTF-8 encoded, fields must be enclosed in quotation marks, and contain the following columns:
Product ID – denotes the numerical system ID of a Product. If this field contains a valid system ID of an existing Product, the Product will be updated with data in the uploaded file. If this field is empty (blank), a new Product will be created. All other cases will be skipped as errors.
Short Name – denotes the internal name of the Product to help you identify this Product. Note that each Product must have a unique Short Name. Attempting to create new Product using a Short Name that already exists, will result in entry being skipped.
Product Name – denotes the product name that appears in Product Hotspots and CTAs.
Product Description – denotes the brief description of the product that appears in Product Hotspots and CTAs.
Product Price – denotes the price of the product including the currency symbol.
External Product ID – denotes the product ID or SKU (item number) for the product. This is used for tracking purposes and can be the relevant SKU from your external e-commerce store.
Button Text – denotes the label for the button that appears in Product Hotspots and CTAs.
Custom URL – denotes the full external URL (inc. the https://prefix) for the product. This is the URL that visitors will be directed to, to purchase or learn more about the product or service.

Product Thumbnail URL – denotes the full URL for the thumbnail image for the product, including the https:// prefix. The maximum recommended height for the thumbnail is 250px. Square images work best in Hotspots and CTAs.
Product Image URL – denotes the full URL for the product image, including the https:// prefix.
Visibility – denotes whether the Product is shown in Displays. “Public” implies HotSpots and CTAs will be visible in Widget Displays. “Private” implies HotSpots and CTAs will be hidden in Displays.
Custom Slug – denotes a unique identifier for the Product used in CSS classes in embedded widgets. Leave blank to use the system default or enter a preferred unique name without any spaces. Attempting to create new Product or update an existing Product using a Custom Slug value that already exists, will result in entry being skipped.
